    Help With K98 Sling Please

    Hello,

If anyone here is knowledgeable on K98 slings, I could use a second opinion here please. I simply want to know whether the sling pictured below looks original or is likely a reproduction. It appears to be very old and the leather is very supple and soft.

I got it attached to a K98 rifle I bought a while back. I always take the slings off because I am left handed and the buckle gets in my way. Anyway, I have a friend who wants to buy it and I do not want to sell something as authentic if it isn't. Any guesses on value would also be appreciated.

    Thank you,
    BR

Thanks for the links Trap. Good reading. Mine has no markings on the metal buckle or the keeper, but dang there are a lot of variants out there.

That's why the links. Some of the repros, are too good, and too easy to be aged, to look original. I've seen some vet bring back slings in such good shape, first glance, you'd swear they were repros.

I'm no K98 sling expert...but, is it just me, or does the buckle look "off"?
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
        Come on...what harm??
