I am an old fart, and I appreciate the Garand info

I am an old fart, but I am still learning about Garands. I missed out on the Garand deals in the good-old days, so I may want to make up for lost time.
I remember my dentist when I was a boy. He had all his employees sign up for the CMP (was it DCM at the time?) so he could get access to more Garands. Also, I worked with gas pipeliners from Texas and Oklahoma who devoted part of their paychecks to buying Garands and other rifles, and would talk Garand and WWII every day at lunch.
    Any Garand knowledge is appreciated.

I was seriously contemplating it, but, money it's kinda tight right now. And as I have a nice ww2 era Springfield for collector purposes, and a nice h&r for shooting. I'm going to hold off for now.

Their current SG HRA Garands are a great value at $625. Better than these IHCs, I think. I just have several of them, so there's no need for me to buy them anymore, whereas I don't have an IHC. Buy a few, keep the best one or two of the lot, sell the rest, and you'll probably come close to getting those rifles you keep for free.

That's what I said when I had 40+ Garands, now I'm down to half that number, but the Garanditis still continues...I bid on a 3.3 million SA on Gunbroker last week and twisted together a Post War SA in 308 from parts last month

Mixmaster IHC's easily sell in the $1100 plus range, mixmaster IHC's with LMR barrels higher

I've come to the conclusion recently that I'm more of a shooter than a collector. I'm going to keep a few select pieces, but most of my small collection is going to end up on Gunbroker. I've got an H&R SGS with correct wood on there right now. I haven't shot it since I got my SG HRA with an LMR barrel. I don't shoot it, so I'm not keepin it.
Yep, I'm in the same boat.

The LMR Bbl guarantee is a plus, but I already have an SASG w/ a 0/1 VAR on it, so I've got a premium Bbl'ed Garand in the rack.

Tough not to write the check - but for the price, plus the Commiefornia extortion penalty?

                    I'll pass.

I thought the price was a little bit too high for myself, especially since the notes state that the only thing IHC is the receiver and possibly the barrel (if you get the LMR barrel option).

You can get a SGS with all matching minty metal for the same price, which seems like a better deal to me.

I'd imagine it would go for a pretty penny, but hunting down all the parts to correct it would probably cost quite a bit too.

No it would not be cost affective to retore
Might point was you arent comparing apples to apples saying the SGS is a better deal.
