Legality of MAS 36 LG 48 & MAS 36/51 in CA

I researched the archives of this forum about the legality of those two rifles in CA but to no avail, A lot is discussed about the semi auto but nothing about the bolt action.
The MAS 36 LG 48 bolt action, is very rare, it is equiped with a grenade launching system similar to the one on the MAS 49. Essentially an adjustable sleeve around the barrel.
The MAS 36/51 bolt action, more common was widely imported to CA in the mid 1990 without apparent restriction.
Do those rifles have to be considered destructive device? I remember calling the DOJ where a not very knowledgable person told me that if they were imported in California they probably were OK.
Is there a text or legislation or document proving that those rifles can be detained legally in CA?
    Best regards

while not mentioned in SB23 regarding bolt action rifles. the launcher itself might be considered a destructive device

    -Someone else will clarify

i believe that only applies if its NATO standard. the yugo SKS launcher is in NATO standard, and is, but i believe french weapons are not standard (weird huh?)

the 36/51 is NATO standard. The 36/48 uses a converted mortar round and is not NATO standard. Best to get a written opinion from the DOJ and keep it on file. I think they are not allowed in CA but I have seen the 36/51 for sale at numerous gun shops and shows over the years.

What about all the FAL and AR-15 rifles with flash hider/ grenade launchers? I guess it commonly forgotten that AR-15 flash hiders are of the proper diameter to also launch grenades. Same with many FAL rifle and all FNC rifles. They even have a retaining spring on them to keep rifle grenades from slipping off. In fact most "assault rifle have flash hiders of the NATO diameter so common NATO spec grenades can be launched.

Indeed - actually you can slip a NATO standard grenade over any muzzle and with a grenade launching blank make it come off and go somewhere in front of the muzzle. Does that make any rifle or carbine with a muzzle diameter smaller than a 22mm NATO rifle grenade a potential grenade launcher?
