I would look for demilled guns instead of doing something to yours. Keep the shooters for shooters for shooting and the wall hangers for display. Also, the wall hangers can have shot out barrels so you can also look for ones like that which will be much cheaper. -
How about just removing the bolts?
On my Mosins I can open the bottom of the magazine and insert a flexible gun lock cable. I have thought about making wall hangings and inserting a huge stainless steel bolt with a large o ring at the top and threading the cable lock thru that and the gun, thus securing it to the wall And making it unable to be shot.Comment

The display rifles can be bought at www.ima-usa.com
Apparently they are not resin, but wood and zinc alloy.Last edited by fal_762x51; 05-24-2014, 4:46 PM.sigpic

yep, exact one that is shown.
I used two pair of channellock pliers and pulled it apart with little effort.
It did no damage to the lock and was able to push it back together.
Not to mention that if you place it in front of the trigger then you can still fire the gun with it in place by simply pulling on the lock against the trigger."duck the femocrats" Originally posted by M76

Yeah looks like installation is critical. And I'm reading mention of needing to make sure you flip the lever up to lock; sounds like a few forgot to do that... are you sure its the same one? Don't mean to harp on this, but you mentioned forgetting a key. That one I linked to is a combo unit.yep, exact one that is shown.

Either way I might get one and try my best to destroy it. Would be an interesting test
