Capy, get one you'll love it. Add to what others have said plus a WARNING!

When shooting it anybody standing to your right rear within 20-30 feet should have eye protection and a hard hat as that's where the brass goes!

You'll notice I put the finger rest floor plate on the mag(s), makes it more comfortable to grip if you have big hands. These floorplates came from Makarov.com when they were still in business, don't know where you'd find them now. Have the original holster and cleaning rod around here somewhere also.

I prefer the gray finish over the black one.

Didn't know they came in black, I've only seen gray parked ones. Would the black indicate something? Refinished or maybe the grey park is the refinish or the original finish, curious?

You could look for a Sauer 38h like mine, I've got some photos and video of it shooting in a recent thread in this forum. Great gun, very solid. I've handled the predecessor to it as well 1913 or something like that, also a sauer and sohn.

I got one years ago, got the 9mm barrel too.
They used to make, maybe still do, a slide stop with a thumb piece so you dont have to drop the mag to release the slide.

Ive also heard of the decocker failing, dunno if true or not, but something to think about.

I only use decockers with the gun pointed down range or in a safe direction, I have never trusted them. I have had a Ruger P95DC for decades and now I have the P38 and a few others with them. Fine to use if you follow the rules.

It was the first pistol I bought. It was under $100, but that was a very long time ago. I still have my baby.

I sold a clean one a few months back for like 320 with a couple boxes of ammo thrown in. Plus two mags and the holster.

They come up from time to time. I bought the one I sold from another CGNer.

Blac indicates the weapon was re-arsenaled at CZ-BRNO, i.e., rebuilt at the factory An "X" on the right side of the frame indicates decocker modification before importation.

CZ converted 1000 to 9mm at the factory...you can verify that by the serial number stamped on the barre. 9mm barrels were also available for a while as aftermarket parts from Federal Arms, iirc.

I have a factory-converted 9mm FS, 3 factory mags. $300 + shipping to your ffl, or $300 ftf in Idaho. Time is not of the essence. PM or email from here if you're interested. Allow at least a day for response...time to cut the alfalfa here. She's identical to the gun in post #7.

Really like mine, highly recommended. Also my PPS-43 takes the same ammo.

Thanks, it's an extremely low mileage safe queen! I got it back in the early 90's when the like new pistols were selling for $160 didn't even have to play the "Hand Select Fee" game in those days, it's not in my C&R FFL Book so it's in my old 01 FFL records (sold it to myself) which are buried somewhere right now.

Back in those days there was considerable discussion regarding issues with the decocker.

Great pistol if you can find one, I think Cabelas Reno, had one a month or so ago, can't remember what they wanted for it though. They do show on GB and at shows so let the hunt begin!

Thanks for that finish color info, I didn't know that. Back when I got mine guys were talking about the 9mm bbls that were being sold, I just never jumped on it when I could have to get one before they all evaporated! I think I saw them in the Sarco ads in the old Shotgun News when it was really worth anticipating its arrival to shop for all the goodies that were for sale back then.
I got it out to check what looks like an "X" on the right side of the frame, the "X" on mine is actually crossed Swords in front of the number 54. Any idea what that means? There are no punch marks in the top of slide, which supposed to indicate something I think.

So does your pistol only shoot 9mm? Or is it a conversion where it could also still shoot 7.62x25?

Last time I checked, (no pun intended) Czechpoint had them again in stock.
