    Argentine info

Just to inform you that "crest" is the national seal. I have a beautiful full size mauser modelo argentino in great shape, I bought it because of the seal and how clear it is.

I've got a 1929 Paatz .22 that was the model for all the German trainers. Mauser bought them out to use their patent. It still shoots as well, if not better than my Remington 513T's.
Jesse, I might have a sight hood for that ES340b. Need the width & length of the hood grooves.

Trap55 - looking forward to seeing how this shoots - I will Email you the size for the hood, it's a funny looking cylindrical hood. Would be nice, the original slings look good too, will likely cost more than the rifle, though, lol.

Thanks Xbuilder - of course you are correct.
Although "coat of arms" might also be accurate - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coat_of_arms_of_Argentina
It is not very crisp on the firearm I have - which is strange as all the other imprinting is crisp and the rest of the finish is excellent.

          I also have a 340 -- unfortunately not whole -
A GI bring back who tossed the bolt overboard for some reason --
Did you notice the bore is off center and the firing pin is in the center of the bolt.?
If you take more photos I would love some of the bolt -- big project to make but they are not available-- at least not at the usual sources --

            Gunboat,

Of course I will do that -

Yes, on all the collector forums the point is made not to break anything as parts are very difficult to get - sorry.

Love those old .22 trainers. Nice pickup!
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
              Come on...what harm??

Here are some shots of mine, serial 190xxx. Mine is also missing the front sight hood.

And then, there is the American counterpart, the H&R M-65.

Nice pics - thank you - I'll take some better photos of mine and the bolt - when there are less children running, screaming around my office.
