Hi, I have a TDC capper that came with my Pietta 1851 Navy and some Winchester #11 magnum caps. Are you supposed to push the caps past the two prongs on the end or just leave it in the little clip and pull it out as the cap rests on the nipple? I've tried the second method as it seemed logical at the time but it's hard to get the caps over the nipples since the two prongs at the end get in the way. I ordered a set of SliX-shot nipples to work better with the larger caps so I won't be shooting until then.

Alright, I guess it wasn't really designed for the Navy in mind... I can get it to work but I have to push the caps literally between the two prongs on the end, but once I only have maybe five or so caps remaining in the capper, I'm unable to push the caps that far out. I suppose I could stick a little metal rod in the capper and use that to push the caps out but it's kind of inconvenient. I may try one of those 'snail' shaped cappers instead.Truckers make the world go 'round!

Oh man.. I just had an epiphany! Forget cappers - use tweezers! They'll also work for crimping larger caps!Truckers make the world go 'round!
