    Argentine Crested Goodness.

Recently picked-up a Loewe M1891 rifle with the crest, came with a crested bayonet from the same serial series!

Also got a 1909 Engineer's Carbine! All matching!

The 1909 has an attachement for a secondary bayonet type. Is it for the M1891 style?

That has to be the coolest looking receiver marking I have ever seen.

        Very nice!

I've got a thing for South American contract Mausers and the Argentines are my favorite.

I recently glommed an Engineers carbine myself.

I have a few Portuguese Crests (3X) in my collection - that Argentine is interesting for sure.

I have to say the Peruvian Contract M1909 rifle crests made by Mauser gives the Argentines a run for its money!

I agree with the above, Venezuelan Mausers are fairly busy.

yeah pretty much all the south American mausers had really neat crests on them. I love the argentines especially and can't wait to get another one. The '91 actions are so smooth.

Those South American contract Mausers are amongst the most beautiful C&R rifles ever made in my opinion, along with the Persian Mausers.

Syntax, that is about the nicest '09 Peruvian that I've seen.

Peruvian '09 Mausers are much rarer than the Argentine '09 Mausers and are rarely in as good a condition as the Argentines.

I've got one '09 Peruvian and am always on the look out for another and rarely see them in great or matching condition.

Syntax Error's is about the nicest I've seen and I wonder if it is matching as well.

Dude, you need to clean your keyboard, but, otherwise, very nice rifles. Makes me think I should revisit Argentine Mausers.

The Peruvian 1909's are probably the most elegant South American Mauser rifle. They are covered in markings...

The prettiest crest I believe is the crest on the Guatemalian Vz 24... It's a Resplendent Quetzal bird with crossed rifles.

The Brazilian crest is also very pretty..

                            Poke'm with a stick!
