I would assume you've shot the same rifle before with no problems?

I will not shoot Winchester, white box or super-x. They have had some quality control issues for the past couple of years.

They had a recall of a bunch of stuff last month or so.

I put some .303 British in Super-X through one of my Enfields and the necks split apart! Took the box back to my gun shop and found that he had two more boxes with brittle brass. New factory ammo too!

brass expands more in the chamber than steel....scrub the chamber

i would put a bore brush on a drill and really get that chamber clean

steel can leave lacquer in the chamber and then if you put brass in BAM sticks....it a common prob when going between steel and brass

i have had my best luck with plain old corrosive surplus Russian 7.62-54r ammo.
today i did have a dud. i fired it twice and it did not fire. first time out of maybe 1,500 rounds.

These guns dont head space on the neck of the cartridge. They headspace within 3/4 of an inch from the rim. Becuase of this when the front of the chamber gets dirty they still head space when it should not.
Go plus one on camber brush and a drill sierra arms did my buddies do to blowing primers out. It worked so well I brought mine in for the same treatment. For $25 it was nkt worth getting a flex rod a rifle vise and chamber brush to ruin. If I had more than kne of these rifles I might invest in those tools!

That's the problem with Mosin's some guns will shoot anything and everything with no problems. Some on the other hand are picky, if you have a picky-mosin, then you have to experiment with different types of ammo.

when you get a mosin that chambers and ejects smoothly without having to slap the bolt it is a keeper. my T-53 , M-44 and PU have nice action and they are keepers.

My hex mosin doesn't like brass ammo though I have only 80 rounds threw it so far it seems to get the sticky bolt syndrome after a box of brass case ammo. I have tried both winchester and privi. Hopefully it likes steel case ammo better than it does brass or there is just some cosmoline in the action.

When I cycle A-Zoom snap caps in my M-44, bolt is stiff, but not to bad. At the range bolt cycles fine with com bloc corrosive ammo, always goes BOOM... Could not dream of feeding my mosin anything else. Steel cased and bi-metal ammo GTG at outdoor ranges up here Sac Valley/delta area.

My 1938 all matching tula mosin does not like Winchester white box brass either (harder to close the bolt)...it loves ppu brass though and thats a lot cheaper anyway!
