    C&R Shows?

So I just moved back to the PRK, and I'm looking for some cool stuff to do and wondering if there are any upcoming gun shows or militaria shows worth going to and where?

I also wanted to say i missed you all as my CalGuns family and Im semi-excited to be back here, but excited about all my friends some of which i look at like blood family. I am looking for a few new toys, and theyre listed in my Signature, please keep in mind the things I'm looking for are just for shooting and reenacting, i just want them to have, not to sit and shine. To wrap it up i want beaters, and rough looking guns, nothing fancy, and matching is the last damn thing i care about right now.
!!WANT TO BUY and looking for shooter/beater/reenacting grade German Waffen proofed handguns from the WWII era. I just want shooters, Im not looking to spend oodles of money, I just want shootable examples to play with!!

!!!Also looking for a shooter/rack grade USGI M1 Carbine (Earlier the date the better)!!!

Wanna help me out? Email me at: mauser3340@gmail.com

You missed the Santa Barbara Historical Arms Show a few months back, it was excellent, small but some nice stuff there and no beef jerky or Chinese toy vendors, it was an actual gun and blade show with lots of very historical displays as well.

The next one is July 19-20th http://www.sbhaa.org/gsinfo.pdf

Yes, at Earl Warren Showgrounds, right off of the 101. There were a ton of BP guns, lots of cool bladed things and a decent amount of C&Rs for sale. Also displays put up by lots of hard core collectors, not for sale, just displays with the collectors answering questions and giving history, it was fun. I learned more about Nambu pistols than I could have in reading ten books on them. There was a really sweet WWII display with a half track with an M2 on it, uniforms on mannequins, etc. it was museum quality.

Worth the drive if you have the time. Not a huge show but pretty quality stuff.

ive bought nice stuff there as well; agree with Capybara. its small but the ratio of good to not good/relevant booths is much higher.

last time i was there i got a nice dutch and french helmet... and watched a guy trade a russian sks for a g41 which caused me great pain

Your location says Modesto, so check out Alquist Arms in Turlock. Last time I was there a few months ago they had at 3-4 M1 Carbines. One was an IBM, not sure of the others.

After what happened to that Alvin Seal, most of the dealers will be hardpressed to put guns on the tables.

There was a big thread here on Calguns a few weeks ago about the Seal arrest but I don't get the connection between him and C&R vendors at the show? How does one event relate to the other Emdawg?

Well, first off, Alvin was a C&R vendor at the show. Capybara, you had a conversation with me about Enfields. Remember? Well, Alvin was in the same isle as me. He sat right behind me.

Anyway, most of the C&R vendors all know each other. I already know 2 guys who will not be setting up any future tables due to the Registration law and what happened to Alvin. They don't care if there is a FFL 01 at a show to do the transfers. Most of these guys are old and scared. Not worth the risk.

It is very sad that the Vendors are not aware of the recent changes in the law. Yes, the registration sucks, but it's not their problem, it's up to the buyer to register the C&R.

There are plenty of people here that have a C&R and a COE and are still able to purchase C&R's on the spot, it's a shame that these vendors are giving in and not setting up tables.

In reality there is almost no risk for these guys, sell to somebody with a C&R and a COE or go through a dealer.
