    It's about time!

Catching up on my Walking Dead watching and the most recent episode shows a Type 53. I've been saying since season one that the M44 or M91/30 with bayonet would be an ideal rifle should it occur in reality and it's nice to see something "common sense" in the show (at least from a cruffler's point of view).

Beat me to it! I was waiting for a Mosin. I just watched last night's episode tonight. It is the perfect rifle for the Zombie apocalypse. Save the ammo, use the bayonet. (It would be kind of heavy though.)

I'm a episode behind so I'll keep an eye out for that scene when I watch it. The MN is great choice for the zombie apocalypse. It's a rifle, a pike with the bayonet attached, or a spear if you need to throw it.

This thread was first. Second one didn't even get the "right" model.

I'll venture that any of the carbine-length Mosin Nagants with the folding bayonets would be useful against zombies...

...but an SKS would be more useful. Double the ammo capacity, faster rate of fire, lighter recoil, and still weighty enough to stab with one end and buttstroke with the other.

Still, it was nice seeing the Mosin on screen.

My 15yo son commented on it last night. He said "hey that's an M44!" I told him I thought it was a T-53. He said "Either way, we have one!"

Note to self: attached folding bayonet a must for zombie apocalypse.
