    how to sell a C&R HANDGUN ?

this has probably been discussed before, but I can not find a thread of info about it.

I am a C&R 03 in California. I have ONE C&R HANDGUN that I would like to sell on an auction site. (This is NOT for business purposes).
    1) Can I sell my C&R handgun directly to any out-of-California C&R 03 or FFL 01 without going through a California FFL 01 ?
    2) If the answer to question 1) is yes, what do I need in terms of paperwork from the out-of-California C&R 03 or FFL 01 ?
    3) Am I allowed as a C&R 03 licensee to ship the C&R pistol to a out-of-California C&R 03 buyer using USPS Priority Mail, or DO I HAVE to use UPS or FEDEX ?
    4) Am I allowed as a C&R 03 licensee to ship the C&R pistol to a out-of-California FFL 01 buyer using USPS Priority Mail, or DO I HAVE to use UPS or FEDEX ?
    5) Am I allowed as a C&R 03 licensee to ship the C&R pistol to a California FFL 01 buyer using USPS Priority Mail, or DO I HAVE to use UPS or FEDEX ?
    6) what paperwork do I have to fill out with the California DOJ when I, a C&R 03, sell a C&R pistol? (at the time of the sale, my California FFL did registered the pistol with the DOJ )
    7) any other concerns/paperwork when a California C&R 03 is selling a C&R pistol?
    8) any States where I would not be legally able to sell my C&R pistol?
    Thank you

    1) Yes
    2) You are required by BATFE to get a signed copy of the receiving FFL's license
3-5) You have to use UPS or FedEx.
    6) Nothing required by law, but you can send in the "no longer in possession" form
    7) No
    8) I'm not sure.

What if you are not a C&R 03 licensee ?

Can you still ship direct to out of state C&R 03 or FFL 01?

Yes you can. Some Type 01 FFL's choose not to accept direct shipments from unlicensed people. But that is just their policy and not the law.

Just remember to declare it with the shipper, use overnight service, and insure it. Lame, lame, lame, but that's the way it is for unlicensed people.

I can't wait for my 01 FFL to show up. USPS here I come!!

Answer to #8) Possibly. Think other uber-restrictive states like NY, NJ, MD, and possibly some other New England states.
