    Cabelas has percussion caps

    Since people have been asking...

    #11 Remingtons, limited stock, http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/searc...12&WT.tsrc=AFF

Cabelas charges less for hazmat than most places, so it's a good price. If you use aftermarket nipples #11 Remingtons work on pretty much anything (#10s are longer and some people prefer them with factory/tapered nipples).

      No.

The only other place that's had them in stock in months is Dixie and they run $8.75 / tin plus $27.50 hazmat plus shipping... limit 5. So you're paying about $85-$90 for 5 tins instead of 10.

And they're actually out of stock right now so it's moot.

Also Cabelas has primers in stock (if you reload), or you can add in some 777 powder to the same order while you're at it. They have both 2F and 3F http://www.cabelas.com/product/Hodgd...h-All+Products

If you can find them cheaper, do let us know.

I know two websites. Do a google search and you'll find them. One has em for like 68 shipped with hazmat and another for about $83 shipped with hazmat.

Those aren't current production caps. They're from the mid 90s. They're less hot than the current ones (40% hotter!) and they're HUGE. No way you can use them in a cap and ball revolver, I've tried and they just fly right off after the first shot. That's why they're labeled on the site as "rifle caps".

I have nearly two thousand of those left after the last guy posted a link without explaining that... if anybody in the bay area wants them cheap let me know.

Exactly. I have a rifle that shoots with #11 caps. Newer production are not hotter unless they are labeled as such.

They ARE labeled as such. 40% hotter.

If you have some 1990s caps and are happy with them, that's great, but we've had quite a few people here who are eyeing cap and ball revolvers at Cabelas but can't find caps. Now Cabelas has caps. Caps that will fit on cap and ball revolvers and that will ignite substitutes which is what most of these people are using. It's a good thing. They can even buy them all at once and combine shipping.

Geeze, you try to help people out and people whine about it. Don't want the caps? Don't buy the caps. Geeze. But don't suggest that other people don't buy the caps unless you can find a better alternative, which you still haven't.

I have. And there are better deals out there. Google it. I've found magnum cci #11 caps shipped for $80ish. Don't get butt hurt that this isn't a deal and I'm pointing that out.

Both #10s and #11s are back. Maybe this means the shortages are over. Maybe Cabelas just sucked them all up. Who knows.

And for what an "expert" 19K is check out post 20 on this thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=898475

Looks like he'd never even shot a black powder gun when he wrote all that.
