Happened to me.
Ramrod tip came off in the bore and I didn't notice.
It didn't feel any different when it fired but left a perfect silhouette of the jag in the paper a few inches from the ball impact hole.
Never found the jag...
Speaking of dry ball.....
I have one stuck in my pocket cannon(not a joke, an actual cannon that fits in your pocket) can't get it out to save my life.
A piece of wadding (tp) is wedged between the ball and bore, very tight.
Grains of powder down the flash hole don't work, just shoot out the flash hole like a spark fountain.
Muzzle loaders are a fun time.
