Was watching this and never thought it would get THIS high. My SKS knowledge is a bit rusty, but am I missing something here?

Good luck
sigpicOriginally posted by gun toting monkeyboyYou did ask. They were only following your instructions. Next time be a bit more careful in how you phrase your posts. If you give people a straight line like that, this is about the level of response you are bound to get. Just be glad you didn't post "Date this rifle"... Those pictures are usually very disturbing.

Yes you're missing something, it's Larry's Magical blanket. Don't ever question the power of the gray blanket. It has more brain cell sucking power than any blackhole in the Universe can create.Comment

I'm confused was it ever issued in North Korea or East Germany before?Want to Buy: Ruger PC9 Magazine Buttstock PouchComment

Most probably not.
It was likely bought at action or gun show, then it was placed on the magical gray blanket in Eisel Armory of NY, and set for re-sale/bid on Gunbroker.
Tossed in perhaps a shill bidder or 2, as then the normal followers came out of the woodwork and went berserk as they normally do, succumbing to the powers of the gray blanket which sucks them dry of all common sense of reality.Comment

I know SKS rifles relatively well. I see nothing special there and in fact I have a 1953 Tula in basically identical condition as that one that i paid less than 1/3 that price for. In fact, the CDI Swan "CCCP" markings on the side are less desirable than the more subtle KBI import marks.
I am completely stumped.Comment

It sold for over 1800...
If my near identical $200 SKS is worth 2k, then I just won the C&R lottery.
Almost everyone driving up the bidding has an NR. No rating.Comment

Wow $1800 !!!! For an import stamped SKS. That's a high price even for a Pre Ban 1980's Polytech Legend AK type rifle....
I'm not sure if it's even completely 'non refurbished'. Yes, original bluing but the muzzle looks partially blued over. Aren't the original Russians muzzles shiny out to the edge? I don't have a russian just several chinese.Comment

I agree with the Magical Blanket hypothesis...I've seen a few of this seller's auctions and the prices he gets sometimes are astounding.
I'm with you...the last time I put up several pieces to sell in the marketplace, four sat for a week with very little interest and/or low balls. I put them on GB and got asking or above (one buyer bought 3 of the 4). And GB's sellers fees are very reasonable. I wanted to keep them all in CA, but it didn't work out this time. You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
Come on...what harm??

That seller, sreisel, always has the highest priced stuff. I have seen him list a bunch of Milsurps for sky high and sell them?????
I always wonder if there is some kind of scam, like his friends bidding to raise the prices, but just dont know.Comment

I can't believe nobody else pointed this out, but it is OBVIOUSLY a Russian prototype ghost gun! You CANT put a price on that!
