Chinese SKS Surplus 7.62x39 Rifle?

I was able to order one of these from AIM Surplus. The details said C&R but didn't say no shipping to Ca. All my other online suppliers say no ship to CA. So I ordered one and got a call this morning saying do I have a COE to go with my C&R I have on file, and sure enough I got one late last year and seems now it finally came in handy. I sent off an email to them of my scanned COE and it is of now good and marked shipped. Can anyone tell me why I could do this through AIM and nobody else for the same SKS?

Lots of places just don't want to ship to CA.

My hat is off to AIM for taking the time to read and understand the law rather than just changing policy not to ship to California. Empire Arms will also ship to CA to an 03+COE.

When you get your rifle, please give us an update with pics. There's talk of SKS's that were imported by TGI and we're wondering if the AIM rifles are them.

Empire Arms has some good California info on their website. Also, they have got good reviews from CalGunners. I have not ordered from them yet, but I will.

I ordered a cracked stock SKS from RoyalTiger a few days ago. I up loaded my C&R and COE, and then a today was asked in a follow- up email from RoyalTiger to provide my C&R and COE info again....which I did in an email attachment. So now I guess I will wait to see if my order will be completed.

Allan's Armory is also California friendly. He knows the rules here and you deal directly with him.

I'd add that you have the ability to see exactly what you are buying. With the distributors, sometimes you hit a home run and sometimes they send you junk.

I will post pics when it arrives Friday. I chose to pay an extra $20.00 for hand picked so hoping to get one in decent shape. I get ads from SOG and Century and neither one will ship to CA.

They never shipped to CA on their SKS models. That's why when I was able to with AIM Surplus it was kind of exciting. Especially for $299.95.

so you are saying the 3 SKS T56 carbines I bought from century never arrived in san diego?? bought from century arms.
a yuog SKS is considered a "rifle" because of extension on end of barrel for grenade,all other SKS are carbines.
