.44 Magnum is too short. I've heard that some people have used 444 Marlin bullets. The problem is maintaining the correct OAL for reliable loading.
The custom mold I have was modeled after the original Vetterli bullet design. Sorry my post was unclear.

No, I just thought you were talking about the dies. I didn't read it right.

I think if you send lee some bullets they can make you a custom mold. Its not that expensive.

Reloading for magazine length (critical in a Vet) is not required as most times (Range/competition) you typically single load.

No real advantage then getting a thrill up your leg to mag feed/rapid fire, just remember the 41RF takes a lot longer to reload/lube bullets.

44 mag bullets used as cast 30-1 will work well, obviously a custom mold designed for the rifle is always better but you have to ask yourself do you want to cast? or just load and go?

I have two custom molds for my two Vets and one Swiss Peabody i'm selling and they work very well, about 1/2 moa better then heavy unsized 44 mag bullets but I shoot out to 300 meters and or 200 meter silhouette with it. If your just going to do 50/100yards 44 mag bullets is a fine solution.

I intend to cast and load if possible. I would like to have the full experience, and I don't care how long it takes.

I would also like to use the mag if possible. You have a mold for sale? Do you have a thread about it? Send me a link?

Once again I read wrong, 'two custom molds for my two Vets and one Swiss Peabody i'm selling' I thought you were selling the molds.

No need for all that fooling around for a firing pin. Just use a RCBS #5 decapping pin. Gently file the inside shoulder flat to 90 degrees. Works perfectly.

Nice. I sent you an email about the converted carrier I saw on the Swiss Rifle Forum.

              Do you have any left?

                Yes, we manufacture them.

This is how the decapping pin works with the firing pin carrier.

Yes, thank you. It is within my ability to get set up.

Is there a good way to get a carrier? Can I still send a check to your address?

That is a nice and easy solution you created Latigo. Well done!

Do what I did...buy two carriers from Latigo. That way you're ready for the inevitable second Veterrli purchase!

BTW, I got a pack of RCBS de-capping pins from eBay for just a few dollars.
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
                            Come on...what harm??
