Now that the new laws are in effect what has changed on selling an m1 carbine? family friend is finally ready to sell his Saginaw 's'g' non refurbished. All original. Just had it cleaned and verified it is still a gun and not a mantel piece.

It will have to be handled as any other long gun sale in CA - that is, a PPT conducted through a FFL - unless you have a collector FFL and CA COE. If you have the FFL/COE, it's still cash and carry IIRC.I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy! -
Unless you have an 03 (C&R) FFL, and a COE (certificate of eligibility) you will have to go through a regular FFL, do the DROS, and wait the 10 days.
Face to face cash and carry for us regular folk went away 1/1/14. Even with the C&R and COE you still have to mail in a registration to the CA DOJ.Comment
