    Replacement Mosin Stocks

I've been looking around for a replacement M44 stock but to no available. My main approach had been looking to Ebay but stocks have been selling for stupid high amounts of money. I'm surprised how much Mosin stocks are selling for there. I remember when AIM was liquidating their "stock" and selling off complete 91/30 stocks for $17. I have only seen inflated prices since then. Is there a place out there that sells complete M44 or Type 53 stocks (give of take the cleaning rod)?

I bought a replacement M44 stock from Numrich because the one I had was sort of beat up and had several arsenal repairs.

The one I received from Numrich was not cheap, was more beat up, and had even more patchwork repairs. A complete waste of time and money. I would look on GB or another board for a specific stock with pictures for sale. The retail milsurp sites will probably send you overpriced junk surplus worse than what you already have.

At this point, a beat up surplus stock is still better than the plastic Monte Carlo stock that I have. But I would like to avoid paying for an overpriced piece of trashed wood. I guess the beauty of places like Ebay are that you know what you're buying, as opposed to taking a chance with a mil surp site.

Well, for what it's worth, Liberty Tree has a pretty good reputation, and they do have photos of 4 stocks on the site, all of which look serviceable, and are complete with handguards. If you look at their T53 stocks, they are beat to hell.

Tough call, but if I needed a stock, I would probably roll the dice on Liberty Tree.

Yes, Ebay or GB or Calguns of course. Then you know exactly what you are getting.

Contact Rick Reich. his contact info is on gunboards. He had some at one point and may still. He is a little slow to get back to you sometimes but has great prices and is easy to deal with. Good luck

What's Rich Reich's contact info? I'm not a member of Gunboards.

I contacted Rick Reich when I was looking for one. He is a very nice guy but he was out of them (probably 2 months ago.) It is worth a shot to ask him.

Gunboards is a great site. It is worth joining up as there is a ton of info there, whether you find an M44 stock or not.

Thanks for the link Enfield. I am way impressed by his inventory, he's got damn near everything at C&R collector needs in the part of parts and accessories. It's cool that he also deals in some non-firearm military surplus like uniform components. I like to mingle my C&R collecting with Cold War uniform collecting from time to time.

Just heard back from Rick. He's out of Carbine stocks. The search continues!

Keep a look out on eBay. I've seen some nice ones sell for a decent price.

Call Liberty Tree, and ask if the photos are representative of the stocks they have on hand, and what their return policy is if you end up with a fencepost.

And hell, while you have them on the phone, ask if you can hand-pick a wartime stock, there is one in their photo.
