While I love both rifles, and the finish on the AK looks awesome, I just never liked the vertical grip integrated into the guard. Great looking pair though.

Very nice. While not C+R, they are fun and cheap to shoot. Building them is fun too, if you have or can get access to the tools. We've built 4 AKs and a PSL. There's something very satisftying about shooting a gun you put together.
If you're thinking about building one, do it soon while its still legal.

Had just seen this.. The AK has Red Oak 215 stain by Minwax and four coats of Poly, the SKS was how it came, if you need some help PM me and i'll gladly go more into detail for you

as for the SKS i sprayed some stripper on the butt of the stock and sanded it a bit cause i was thinking of staining it, just got out some of the dirt and grease and all that so its a little bit lighter but i figured id just leave it since i havent gotten too far. On the other side of the handguard it has A 4 L or A+L engraved in it which is pretty cool
