Hello all,
I just recently started seriously getting into guns, and have decided that I want to start off my collection with a mosin 91/30 and possibly an m44. I filled out the c&r application and sent it off thinking in a month or so I'd be able to order my mosin online and have it delivered to my door.
Imagine my extreme disappointment when today I learned about AB 809. I'm now not sure what to do. I only applied for this license because I reasoned it would save me the FFL transfer fees, but if I am reading this law correctly I now have to transfer anyway even though I have a c&r license? It looks like I can apply for a COE and still have them delivered to my doorstep, but it seems like a lot of hassle for just one or two rifles.
Since I've already spent the 30 on a c&r license, do you think I should just apply for the COE and then order a couple rifles online? my hesitance with this is it seems pretty invasive to get finger printing done for just an old rifle. So would it make more sense just to order them to a local FFL and pay the transfer fee? I think around here its like $70-100 for each gun.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, as i'm quite a noob. Thanks
