    Sarco Colt 1911A1 Circa 1930?

Anyone have any experience with these Sarco Colts? I can't tell anything from the pics on their website. They are priced from $499 to $699 depending on the markings and the wear and tear.

A friend of mine has bought two of the middle grade ones from them, shipped to his FFL no problems. They are both very functional, but very ugly, genuine Colts. Would make great restoration projects.

For a time Sarco was running these in auctions on Auction Arms. I purchased one from these auctions. What I received was a 1930's Commercial Government Model, 10-20% original finish left, but no rust or pitting. I replaced the springs with Wolff and it functions perfectly. I think mine was priced at the $599 level.

Will Sarco not sell if you don't have a C&R? You didn't need a license to have C&R pistols shipped to an FFL last time I checked.

It is my understanding that Sacro will not ship any C&R firearms to CA because they are not on the "roster". It doesn't matter if you have a 03FFL/COE or want it shipped to a 01FFL. Although totally wrong, that apparently is their policy and they have stuck to it.

In this thread I told people about rust bluing their Sarco Colts. You can see the results http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=382492
                Revolvers are not pistols

Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

Sarco website says firearms shipped to CA. are sent via UPS ground, I was figuring that meant they are ok with shipping to us here in the "Golden State". It seems like some of these outfits base their will/won't ship to CA. policy on what kind of mood you catch them in on the day you call. Milsurp, thanks for the link, good info there.
