The Romanian SGAmmo's been selling recently is supposed to be very nice and relatively new by surplus ammo standards. I haven't used it personally but Bulgarian is nice and the Russian also (especially, what is it, factory 188?). None of it's match ammo obviously, but it was made to the same specification and it's all packed up extremely well and should be minty fresh once you get that spam can open.

The Bugarian 1955's brass cased yellow tip Lead core heavy ball was the most accurate surplus I've ever shot out of my M39

I have the most issues with the 40s Russian surplus that come on clips. Shoots accurately enough, just a lot of issue with feeding and extracting, on pretty much all of my mosins, which have no issues with other ammo.

I find the Chinese surplus from the 90's to be more consistent, accurate, and a bit cleaner than the Russian, Romanian, or Bulgarian fodder of today.
