    Bringing in a mauser c96

Im interested in getting a mauser c96 and was wondering if i can just buy one online and have it shipped to my ffl. From my understanding its c&r and therefore roster exempt. Or would i have to SSE to get one?
Im looking for the stripper clip one i know the detachable magazine one is a no no.

Why is a detachable mag a no go for a handgun?

Anyway, you should be able to have it sent to an FFL01

Since it is C&R it is exempt from the roster. All C&R handguns mailed into the state must be transferred through a 01 FFL and must go through the DROS process.

If you have a C&R license (03 FFL) you can go out of state and cash and carry it and self-register it when you return back to CA.

the detachable mag versions (fairly rare) are considered assault weapons in CA because the detachable magazine is not inside the pistol grip.

So P38s, although not on the roster, can be brought in through a FFL01?

          Sorry to thread jack

Wow, that's retarded. I could prob change my pistol mag just as fast as a C96 mag, lol. Just wait until our pistols will need bullet buttons

(snicker) Go look at a C96. It already has a fixed magazine. No bullet button needed. You load it through the top with clips. Yes clips. I love starting threads over in the handgun section about how I need to get more "clips" for my pistol. The "Magazine, not clip" crowd normally gets up a full head of steam in about an hour or two, then I post pictures of my broomhandle, which does, indeed, use clips. It is trolling, but it is still fun.

Same with the Garand, it's fun to troll people, talking about "clips for my rifle".

Yes. C&R handguns are roster exempt.

Effective January 1, 2001, no handgun may be manufactured within California, imported into California for sale, lent, given, kept for sale, or offered/exposed for sale unless that handgun model has passed firing, safety, and drop tests and is certified for sale in California by the Department of Justice. Private party transfers, curio/relic handguns, certain single-action revolvers, and pawn/consignment returns are exempt from this requirement.

remember, words like "retarded" or "ridiculous" do not apply here anymore and should be replaced in sentences simply with "California". For instance; "microstamping is required on all pistols but thus far, nobody has been able to make a working model. yet, it's still a requirement, that's so California."

There was a variant of the C96 called the Schnellfeuer (Fast Fire) that did have a detachable magazine.

It was initially selective fire machine pistol but semi-auto versions were imported.

                          Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

First you are chopping up historic vintage rifles and sticking them in cheap and nasty looking plastic "dildo" stocks that look like some kind of futuristic sex toy that gay space aliens stick up each other's butts.
