Webley MkIV broken extractor - NEED A WEBLEY GURU

Just saw a really nice, but broken Webley MkIV .38 in one of my local shops. She is all matching and has a great finish. All parts are present, but the extractor is broken. I really like this pistol, and the price is right...I think. The shop owner is willing to let it go for a song and dance, but I want to know what I'm getting into as far as fixing this beauty. I looked online in the usually spots (numrich, sarco, liberty tree, marstar, apex, and springfield sport), but no one has the extractor in stock.

Any other places I can check?

Also, are there any hidden issues with replacing the extractor? Plug and play, or gunsmith required?

I'm not going to buy it unless I know where to find the part...

Side note: The extractor broke while being handled in the shop. Owner now just wants it gone.

    Thanks for your expertise.

I'm guessing part # 45 is worn out, or the little spring (#43) is wore out if it doesn't extract and retract properly.
If it's the spring, you can probably pick up a big pack of mixed Wolff springs and find one that works. I've repaired a Webley or four in my lifetime

If you were closer to L.A. or willing to drive I'd take a look for you.

If the snapped the extractor STAR- well, then you probably need a whole new cylinder. I see them (or complete top ends) come up for sale on gunbroker and even ebay from time to time. Apex used to have whole top ends.

Thanks saki. It is the star that is broken (#7) I found a complete cylinder fo $50, so that is my back up plan. I would really like to keep the original cylinder since the sn matches the frame. There may very well be other issues that caused the extractor to break, so it might be good to just have the spare parts.
