    An "original"? Not really. (Tribute)

This is a good one on GB. It's the only one produced of today. As for ammo for an original is mill to none. Place a bid on this rifle you may be lucky.

Dammit!! I only have $39,000 in disposable cash. Looks like I'm out.

Pretty but why, pray-tell, was it made in .44-40? I think it would have been much more special if they were made in the original .44 Henry Rimfire.
I get the ammo scarcity but for being one-of-a-kind "original" tribute rifles that's pretty moot. It's not like you're gonna be plinking at the range with this thing anyway.

For the premium it brings, they could have even done a tribute cartridge box of newly custom made .44 Henry RF to go with it.

I am glad there are people with money to burn for such nonsense. Maybe throw in a Warhol original while you are at it.

I think guns that look like that are ugly and a huge waste of money, but other people think different obviously. All of the overdone engraving and plating, bleah. For that kind of money, some pieces from SVT-40s collection would be much more appealing.

Agreed. Ugly gun, VERY pretty wood.

If you travel to China, you can go to the city of Jingdezhen where the original Ming vases were produced and buy porcelain that looks exactly the same as the stuff made 400 years ago. Same traditions, same manufacturing technique, same everything. This rifle has all the collector value of a 2014 "Made in China" Ming vase. If someone pays $40K for this thing and takes the factory tour, I bet all the employees will be laughing behind their back.

If he had only put "not K98" in the title he could have gotten 50k.

Oh yeah. For 40 grand I would put a bid on svt's collection. I wonder what his is worth.

First you are chopping up historic vintage rifles and sticking them in cheap and nasty looking plastic "dildo" stocks that look like some kind of futuristic sex toy that gay space aliens stick up each other's butts.

It would have to be an original for me to spend that kind of coin,
not on a " historic rifle created in tribute".
Pffff! No, wrong not for that price.

I recall seeing a few originals at the Big Reno Show for around that price. I guess some people have more money than sense, if they can make one of these rifles today, they can make one tomorrow so it really isn't that hard to come by. I would get a good laugh if they start turning them out by the dozen.
