    Too many guns

At what point do you have too many guns. If you mostly collect i say never enough. I consider myself mostly a hobby shooter. i have 9 C&R and i just can't shoot them all as much as i would like. i see no point in getting more except maybe trade one for something i want. As much as i love them i do not want safe queens. if i do not shoot it i loose interest in them.
I am not looking for a answer, just interested in your opinion on this subject. I would think the vast majority here would say never enough.

Im at the same spot. I am getting rid of a lot of them. But I figured.... keep one 22. One bolt action. One semi rifle.one shotgun.and two pistols. And thats my limit ill sell them if i get another of the same kind. Each has its own use. No reason to have a double and let it sit around. Dont have the time to clean them all periodically, hope this helps

as you've seen I literally have too many to shoot. starting to learn though, that you have to pick and choose, and occasionally force yourself to take one out that you otherwise wouldn't. everyone has their go-to, or favorite one they take out pretty much every time, the SKS for me and it's kind of a security blanket. last time I forced myself to leave it at home so I could properly spend time with some of the others. if you're conflicted now with 9 of them, you'll really be in trouble if you start reloading. then you'll HAVE to take different ones out and shoot them just to test your loads. then more to develop the loads should they require changes. it's more than just a hobby, it's a lifestyle!

I probably have too many guns, especially rifles (I only have a few handguns). I wish I had more time and ammo to shoot more often. The only weapons that I regularly shoot are those designated as SD/HD weapons (Pistols, AR's, and SG's)

The C&R's are more fun and I wish I could shoot them more. SKS and Mosins are especially gratifying to take out to the desert. I sold off more weapons last year than I should have, so I am going to keep most of what I have now. Especially the Garands, Mosins, and of course my first love the SKS.

With the freewheeling FTF days of 2013 behind us, I am just growing more reluctant to get rid of anything unless financial circumstances force it or the need to fund some unanticipated impulse buy.

I have a substantial collection but there are only three that I don't shoot, one due to its value, one because its unsafe and one because I have not set up to load for it. I try to shoot a different rifle each month in our silhouette match, much to the detriment of my scores.....

I like to have one type or pattern of the major military powers from the 1890's up to Vietnam or so.

            Still working on it.

Plus everything I own must be shootable.

I'm a collector, but not that interested in anything collectable. Give me a working model that I can load and cast and shoot, and Im happy.

              I have many firearms...too many?...only when they can't fit into the safe(s).

Safe? I just pile all my guns on the floor now.

I don't even shoot them anymore, I just buy them.

I try to rotate them around since I only take 3 rifles to the range at any time. Unfortunately one of those is usually my wife's and I've been trying to break in my 30-06 so that only leaves one to "play" with haha. Just take one or two out that you haven't shot in a while. Alternatively, open up your safe and I'll help you "thin the herd" haha

All of my weapons are shootable. When my dad passes his on to me, I think there is only one that I will NEVER shoot. 4 barrel shotgun that we think his dad bought from someone who made it in their barn or something. Lets just say that age has not left us with warm fuzzy feelings about being anywhere near it when it fires. Very cool conversation piece though!

I will say that I am sold on Swiss rifles. The make most of their contemporaries look like poor relations by comparison.

Not sure where to start, but from the fit to the finish the ones I have are exquisite. As a class, I will definitely be picking up duplicates.

Not to mention the price, availability and the fact that they use a common .308 projectile.

Still like my Garands better, but is damn close.

I have, what many non-shooters would say, "too many". I can't fit any more in my safe, so a lot are sitting outside of it, haha. I need another safe

That said, I try to rotate shooting all my rifles. Some I don't shoot as often because I have only a little bit of ammo/ ammo is hard to find for it

I never wanted doubles, but right now I have 2 Mausers, a Czech and an RC. I've thought about selling off the RC because it seems less accurate, but I love having a German Mauser that still has the WaA stamps, and it's a lammy

I'm thinking about getting a lammy M44 from JG, but have a Chinese T53 already, but I did some light stock refinishing, bolt/ breech polishing, so I don't want to sell that (plus I was able to hand pick it from the LGS)... so guess I'll have a double of that too, lol

Also want a Russian lammy SKS, but have a Chinese T56 that I have to bed, and I had hand picked it from the LGS also, so wouldn't sell that either

I did buy those Classic B grades to sell off later though...

                      I only buy shooters

I still have a few rifles I'd like to add to my collection too

                      I'm just rambling now, lol

I think as long as there are guns you want that you don't have yet, you don't have too many. I'm probably rationalizing, but I have slowed down my buying considerably. Is that like cutting back from 3 packs a day to just one?
My son and I have a couple of rules, it has to be a military gun and functional.
