    M91/30 stripper clip question

Picked up a M91/30 before registration, this is only my 2nd and probably last long gun unless the law changes. I couldn't find anything relating to this, but when you load a stripper clip into the magazine, can you slam the bolt shut to eject it like you can on a K98?

is it really that hard to pull the empty charger out of the clip guides? I don't get it.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

Treat the stripper clip well and it will serve you a long time.

There are a lot of variations and some people are very picky. My only advise is to avoid the aftermarket clips.

All of mine are Izhevsk -- I bought a case of the '40s ammo that was loaded on clips and saved them.

Those cans show up on occasion; if a batch of it shows up, buy.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

I have them, I never use them in a 91-30. you can install the rounds improperly in the clip and have feed problems. rimed cartridge

That's good to know, because I did buy a crate of these from J&G sales about a year ago that I haven't opened yet. They shipped the wooden crate without a cardboard box and I got it smashed to hell. From a review I read, the ammo itself is on the dirty side. But it was the stripper clips that I wanted, so I'm glad to hear that they're good ones.

I got mine from J&G too. Some people were reporting that the ammo hadn't aged well; inaccurate and some hang-fires. I shot it up and saved the silver tip I had for later. I never had a hang-fire and didn't notice the ammo was inaccurate compared to other surplus. It is dirty and corrosive so clean after shooting. The ammo was cheap and I have no complaints.
