    C&R sick

A retired LEO wanted to sell me a like new colt cobra 38 revolver made in the 70s. i was not interested even though the price was only 350 bucks. i finally lined him up with a friend to buy it. It was a beautiful colt pistol.
So what did i buy a 1895 Nagant revolver because i think they are neat. You can tell me all day what a dud they are . No matter i want one. And yes i have shot one. I am as excited as a school girl at prom night.

I'm just like you NOTABIKER. I've turned down many good deals on non-C&R guns simply because my heart lies with all things old and historical. Sometimes I kick myself for it, other times I'm thankful I saved the money to buy something more sacred to my interests.

And who is gonna tell you that a Nagant Revolver is a dud? I have two and they are very neat little handguns. I wouldn't trade them for anything because I know I'll have a hard time getting my hands on one for as cheap as I did.

Did I do a bad thing? I replaced the wood grips on my 1940 M1895 with the cool red starred grips just cause they're prettier. Not a bubba in my book since the wood grips are safely in storage.

Yes you broke a sacred C&R rule. even if the part unscrews and can go right back on you were very bad. got a pic of those grips i might want to get some.

just like a M 91-30 i bet that 1895 Nagant will never fail to fire single action with surplus ammo. that is the beauty of commie stuff.

My problem is that the '44 Izhevsk M1895 I picked up is so pristine, I don't want to fire it. Then I will have to clean it and it won't be shiny and new looking anymore ;-)

In searching for a picture, and looking at other examples, I guess my red plastic grips have only the diamond around the screws, but I remember they were exceedingly hard to find none-the-less. Eventually a saved eBay search alerted me to their availability.

I would have bought the Cobra in a heartbeat for $350.

should be able to find some at the show, miwall usually carries Prvi stuff and if nothing else, somebody will probably have some surplus.

At the time the colt was offered i was in the process of getting a 1918 danzig mauser and a M-39 finn. A man has to have his priorities. Believe me i am spending like a drunken sailor. At my humble level of cash flow.
