Long Gun Registration Form

I think I found the form to use for long gun registration with C&R and COE holders to comply with 2014. It seems they have revised it and renamed it to "Curio and Relic Firearm Report"

Your welcome. I had to share since I can't find it here on Calguns yet. I was looking in the wrong place (ATF) but went to the CA DOJ site to look at the COE application form and there it was.

Just to be clear...

The "Curio or Relic Firearm Report" is used for reporting both C&R long guns and C&R handguns that are acquired physically from out-of-state with the "5 day" reg rule of returning to CA.
Remember, you don't need a COE if you're physically in another state purchasing a C&R while holding an 03 FFL.


This is the new in state C&R Long gun reg form with the "30 days of taking possession" reg rule, that appears to have been adopted but perhaps not officially released.
It would also appear that this form is used for out-of-state shipments of C&R long guns to a CA COE + 03, since the final acquisition would be in state.

Gaah, these sure do leave a sour taste in my mouth, but they are what they are. At least now we can buy anything in the book as C&Rs, that opens up possibilities for a few new guns for us. Sure would be be nice if someone went through the latest C&R book and made a sticky of what NEW items we can acquire now that we couldn't a few days ago (as C&Rs).

Great Idea. Though I suspect that would take a butt-load of work to weed out what C&R's are over 50 years old, but still federally classified as C&R.

kinda doubt it's that simple, has anyone got a link? there are many things on the federal list that are WAY too cool to send to Kalifornia.

Like there are AR's and AK's that ATF classifies as C&R but are still banned by name under the CA Roberti-Roos AWCA of 89'.

How they came up with those specific AK serial numbers as C&R is anyones guess.

Heck, you'd think even original 1950's-1960's Armalite AR-15's and original semi-auto AK's made from 1947-1964 would have made the list but they're not there.

Thank you very much GOEX FFF for clarifying this. The in state form you listed didn't so up on the DOJ site by the time I saw the other one but it should be up soon since the other one is on there. I'll be on the lookout for the in-state form.

Yeah, it's not on the front page of the CA DOJ forms.
You have to more or less type in key words in search field to find it. Hopefully they get the new in state form on the main page soon, so it won't be too confusing.

I thought the ATF has some blurb about the list being not inclusive and once a gun hits 50 years, its C&R regardless.

That form makes me sad. Not so much for registration but for how much that is going to cost me over the coming years. So many other things I would like to do with that money.

Well I'm going in for my Live Scan tomorrow for my COE to apply. Anything I should worry about? Also is $20 a respectable Live Scan operator fee? Going to the local UPS store where they have one.

Yea it would be nice to have an updated list of C&R's the DOJ's book is so old.
