Mitchells Mausers?

Yugo M48s. Found for a quarter of the Mitchells' price at various online surplus dealers. If you're too lazy to clean and want something to shoot right out of the box and have money to burn like chow yun fat, then go for it.**********************************************

WAY over priced. They refinish the rifle for you. You can get just as good a Yugo M48 from Allan's Armory http://allans-armory.com/aaresult.asp?PageId=32Originally posted by HEUERWhat's the dope on these mausers? Are they any good?

Mitchells' doesn't refinish them, they're just handselect M48's in a fancy cardboard display box with the accessories packaged nicely.
They're overpriced, and you can find a better deal elsewhere, but if you want it to look really pretty, they do that well.Comment

The Mitchells I've looked at lately don't even have the cosmo deep-cleaned. They clean off the bulk of it, but it's still in the crevices and the wood. Dunno if they're all like that, or just the ones I've been seeing.
Still, the prices on "unissued" Yugos has been going up steadily over the last few years, and the Mitchell's aren't as big a rip as they were 3-4 years ago.

I haven't bought a Mitchells 48 for two years or more BUT never from them they were double or triple the regular price but they were in fact new rifles made of old stock not old guns refinished.
If you can find them someplace like CDNN or Centerfire that are in the white box and if they describe them as new or unissued they are as nice as they get.
They went over and bought the warehouses complete bin parts and had them assembled over there and brought them back and sold them as Delux collectors rifles. You could at the time buy a late 48 with all milled pieces and an early 48 with all stamped which both were not supposed to exist and didn't before thay assembled them that way! HAHA
I would never buy direct from them.sigpic

I *think* that Zastava is actually doing the refurbishing on some of these - see:
If you don't need a 48 - I got a nice 24/47 from Samco Global Arms, with all the accessories, for 189.00. It's basically a new gun.
Give me a minute, and I'll post a pic.Comment
