8 mm mauser ammo NOT

I want to shoot my 1918 danzig kar 98a tomorrow. all i have is one box of corrosive surplus 8 MM. i tried ammo bros, turners, big 5 ,wall mart. NO GO ?.
no problem getting 8-56r Steyr ammo what gives on mauser ammo. i did not think it would be that hard to pick up a box or two. J&G does not even list it on line. i guess i can get some at the Ontario gun show next week.
looks like i will be shooting the T-53 a lot tomorrow.

How far are you from SD? A fellow cal gunner has some for sale. I bought from him, and he is really easy to work with.

no 8 mauser? well if you don't come up with any I could handload some light stuff for ya. got lots of brass and bullets, and the only 8mm I have is currently in pieces.

i am in chino hills, i will get by until the gun show . all i want is about 200 rounds. my 1918 is a rough old girl. She will not get shot a lot. I am curious how accurate a shot out barrel with little rifling can do. a bullet at the muzzle will rattle back and forth.

I have some Iranian surplus; it's brass cased so it's OK at the local ranges. I'm in the West LA area. I'm willing to let you have some cheap, really, really cheap if you are interested. Shoot me a PM.

Have you had a lot of duds or hangfires with it? I like the price but reviews are mostly bad. I am always scrambling for more 8mm too. I was lucky to get 2 spam cans of Romanian a while back which is excellent stuff, at least by my low standards.

Remington still loads it, but I believe it is seasonal. And we are at the end of the year. Try one of the bigger online places like Midway. The surplus stuff is mostly dried up.

If the old girl is worn don't invest in ammo that may not work, for instance 50's yugo.

A lot of hang fires, only one dud so far. Last Zombie shoot I left it out in the sun for a couple of hours and seemed to reduce the percentage of hang fires. If you're ever in my neck of the woods I'll give you a handful so you can try it out.

I need 7.7 Japanese that's going to be even more of a pita. Ammo Bros Cerritos doesn't have any more. I'll look at Ontario show too although with no face to face c and r long gun transfers I have even less reason to go and I don't do business with Miwall so I doubt I'll find ammo for Arisaka.

I really don't want to order it as all I want to do is get one box to test fire it.
