Replica powders do not do well in firelocks (like they do well in percussion muzzle loaders).
So for flintlocks, matchlocks, etc. Hodgdon recomends 5 grains of ffffG behind a Pyrodex load reduced 5 grains:

It is not easy to fit a nozzle of a flask into a 22 LR shell (holds 6 grains BP), or other tiny measure. One solution is a flask that would throw 5 grains, if you could find one.
TOW is closing out (soon be gone) a replica of an historical Hawksley flask that adjusts 3 positions to throw 5.1, 6.5, 8.5 grains.
Tiny, the size of a screw driver handle, attractive, authentic replica, has hang loop, spring loaded charger, head screws on and off for easy fill. I just received one and find it to look and work most excellent !
