    C&R Self Registration Forms

I tried getting info about this but couldn't find anything. After the first of next year, is the DOJ going to have a downloadable form for specifically registering C&R long guns? I have forms for the C&R Handgun reports but I would guess that they would now have to make one to use for both C&R long gun and handgun acquisitions. At least it would make it simpler if it was all one form.

Moneyhauler,if I could I would, but beginning the first of next month, it's law. With a C&R lic. it's all about record keeping and I'm not going to jeopardize that by not following the letter of the law even though it will be more of a PITA.

Good find. If I read that right is it $19 per form rather than $19 per gun like it currently is with handguns? That would be nice.

Thanks for the link Trickster. I'll print out a few. I haven't bought a C&R long gun yet but that's going to change in the near future.

I don't think that they have officially released it yet. Check here after the 1st of the year and they should have the official form posted where you can type in the info and print the form.

They haven't, just checked their website. I'm sure it will be available after the first. Thanks again.

Nice find indeed. If it's $19 per form policy is adopted, we will at least know there is someone in DOJ that has the common sense and decency to not ripping off law abiding gun owners.

I see nothing in the new law about any fee/tax to be imposed when using this form.

SEC. 45. Section 27966 is added to the Penal Code, to read:
27966. Commencing January 1, 2014, if all of the following
requirements are satisfied, Section 27545 shall not apply to the
sale, loan, or transfer of a firearm:
                    (a) The sale, loan, or transfer is infrequent, as defined in
                    Section 16730.
                    (b) The firearm is not a handgun.
                    (c) The firearm is a curio or relic, as defined in Section 478.11
of Title 27 of the Code of Federal Regulations, or its successor.
                    (d) The person receiving the firearm has a current certificate of
eligibility issued pursuant to Section 26710.
                    (e) The person receiving the firearm is licensed as a collector
pursuant to Chapter 44 of Title 18 of the United States Code and the
                    regulations issued thereto.
                    (f) Within 30 days of taking possession of the firearm, the person
to whom it is transferred shall forward by prepaid mail, or deliver
in person to the Department of Justice, a report that includes
information concerning the individual taking possession of the
firearm, how title was obtained and from whom, and a description of
the firearm in question. The report forms that individuals complete
pursuant to this section shall be provided to them by the department.

The Canadian gun registry was shut down and abandoned - I wonder if it had anything to do with jokesters flooding the system by registering Black and Decker heatguns, waterguns, cap guns etc. If the gungrabbers want all guns registered, maybe you should give them what they want - go to Home Depot, get the serial number off a Black and Decker heatgun, and register it to Home Depot - should make Sacramento happy so many "guns" are being registered!
