Degrease your K31 trigger assembly...

There should be no grease or oil on a K31 trigger during normal use, they were greased just for storage.
The pics show how to take out the trigger assembly for cleaning...

No grease or oil on sear yes, just disassembly is a little different and requires a strong thumb push.

What I wanted to ask.

I cleaned out the trigger group about 6 months ago and tons of gunk had built up from use. I used a light (super light) coat of oil and left it. Good or bad , Guisan?

I'm just quoting the military manuals and all these say NO combat lubing at all. It is understandeable at the spot where the sear meets the hammer piece, lubing there would reduce friction and the feeling of a crisp trigger.

Unless you dunk your rifle in water the internals do not need lubrication to prevent corrosion...

Those pieces are made of good hardened steel. Just leave them be.

I live close (1 mile) to the beach and even under sea level so plenty of moisture here, no problem at all.

I have a very battle worn M.95 Stutzen with an 1897 acceptance date that is completely brown/patina and corrosion on all of the exposed steel, only to find under the wood line a deep blue and internals in nearly pristine condition.
I highly doubt it was ever constantly oiled over it's 117 years of existence.
