    Mosin question

    Hello all,
I have been wanting a "project gun" for quite some time, and I know what I am wanting, I love my old Mosins, and I know I can buy another, but I really wanted to build one, I know it will cost more, but it is mroe for the fun of building and staining and whatnot.
This leads me to my question.
I was wanting one of the Hex recievers, my other Mosins are not Hex, and I thought it would be nice in my collection, what I wanted to know is, is there any other significant difference internally between the Hex reciever and the rounded top one? I do not think there is, but I also do not want any surprises.

    Thanks

Iirc there is a step in how the receiver requiring different relieving of the stock. Other than that all parts are interchange. Heck, if you want a nicer trigger you could always install a m39 or m27 trigger, seeing as how your putting together a rifle...

OK, thanks for the info. I would imagine that the stock changes wouldn't be that difficult.
Yeah, I was going to look into a not necessarily correct, but a good shooter with aspects of a few models. I have fired a few variants, but not the ones you mentioned. I will look into those, I was also watching vids on doing a trigger job on it. Also, looking into that 31.5 inch barrel from the Mosin M24, as this will not be a matching rifle by any stretch of the imagination, I was going to make it look nice, and not quite stock but definitely vintage, and as its built not bought whole, im not hurting any value of a real Mosin.
