K31...what's it worth?

I purchased a k31 with a box of 480 rounds of 591-1100 ammo about 3 years ago from an enthusiast c&r collector. He has some really nice collections and this rifle was from the collection.

The rifle is in real nice condition with almost no kick marks on the buttstock. Also looks like the numbers match on the receiver and bolt and barrel.

I've never shot it. I'm thinking about selling it to fund another toy.

How much do you all think it is worth?

I would try to sell the package at $625, maybe $650 if it is really nice and see how it goes. That is not much more than it would cost with shipping for an 03 FFL holder, but then they don't get to see the actual rifle they are getting.

Keep in mind, you can sell it face to face to any non-prohibited person in CA through Dec 31, after that it must go through an 01 FFL.

Walnut or Beech stock? % of blue remaining? Condition/measurement of bore? Private or military? These and other things help determine valuel

Bore diameter? A new barrel will cost you more as three of these.

How about some pics along with the serial number?

In 1933 only 1193 were made with serial numbers 520010 thru 521202. Wish I had one of them.
Then in 1957 only 2950 were made with serial numbers 257251 thru 260200. I have one of them.

My point is that a buyer may be looking for a one particular year that they don't have in there collection. Condition and year of production can make a difference to some folks.

Could that possibly be NUMBER 1 of 200 of the "Trials Versions" valid after November 1, 1952?

Yes, it's the very first K31 prototype of 200 made in 1930 and it was later changed into a cut-away model for instruction purposes.
