What does PU stand for?Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.
Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

i am not a big collector, my wallet will not let me. i have had most of the desirable mosins except the very rare ones and finns.
i would rather have my referb 1944 tula PU than any other mosin made.i paid 750 for the one i have and would never sell it.
600 for a historic sniper rifle is nothing. if i found a way you can. stop worrying about minor details.Comment

Assuming they are more Molot processed rifles, the answer is yes. Most people believe them to be legit sniper rifles, and the few that don't, believe they are real rifles, and real PU scopes that were put together recently.
Even if that is true, look at the rifle below it on the page. That is a real PU rifle, imported from Yugoslavia without the scope or mount, selling for $280-$300. Numrich sells legit PU scopes starting at $425.
So to buy the components separately, would cost you more than the complete rifle with scope.
This is also why I think that it is unlikely Molot put these together. Why spend time and labor/money assembling something that sells for the same price or more in parts.Comment
