At big Reno show i secured a 1966 dated Ishapore 2a1 in 7.62mm x 51mm. Then in an out of the way LGS I today found another Ishapore Enfield. This one was in the original 303 british but was dated 1971. So same factory, basically the same rifle, but the one with the caliber from the late 100 was made 5 years after the one in NAT cal.

Mine was 1973 but there is some question if they were newly built or refurbed receivers and parts. All of the late date #1Mk3 Ishapor rifles that I've seen (including the 1973 that I had) were stamped on the left side of the receiver instead of the right side as per original. The thought is that the markings may have been ground from the right side and the rifles restamped with the new date on the left. Only RFI knows the whole story.Comment

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.
