My weekend in Reno

1903A3, appears to be all correct. As far as I can tell, all the parts are "R" marked. Finish appears to be very good, barrel is good. The stock looks like it's been sanded at some point, and some of the proof stamps look like they're gone.

"S" stamp under magazine cutoff, "O. G." on stock. No other stamps except "P" on underside.

Romanian TTC from Classic Firearms. I didn't get the handpick option, but the finish is very good. I did get the extra magazine option, and it's an aftermarket made in Taiwan.



Polish P64 from private party. Steve at Timber Outdoors mentioned that sometimes the import mark damages the finish, causing flaking. This one he said is well done, and one of the better ones he's seen.

The TTC I had sent to a FFL in Reno from Classic firearms. The P64 I found on another message board, and had them sent to the same FFL.

Lots of revolvers and other collectable handguns, but they're more investment than I want to put into it, and I'd always be afraid to shoot them.

Looks like you found some nice toys!!

That's a bummer about the crack on the 03-A3, but it's pretty common for that to happen when the stocks are not relieved properly around the receiver tang. Since that is a scant stock, it is a replacement, and the finish looks way too shiny. Also I believe that is a Smith Corona buttplate. Hopefully it is not a poly finish and maybe you can take some fine steel wool (actually brass wool is better) and knock down the shine and make it look more natural if you want?

You could probably remove the stock, epoxy the chip back in place and then relieve the tang area properly and not have to worry about it happening again.

Looks good. Get those inexpensive handguns while they are still around. Prices just keep climbing when they are gone. I love the tokarev pistols but for me the P64 is a bit snappy and less comfortable to hold.

That double action trigger on the p64 is no joke. I'm still trying to get a cz82. Century has them, but they couldn't guarantee shipping in time.

The stock doesn't bother me that much, it's serviceable.

Now to find some ammo...
