    Mosin M44 feedback

I found out my annual vacation check gonna be a bit more then I thought. I know Classicfirearms has the $ 99.00 Mosins, but I really like this http://www.classicfirearms.com/long-guns/m44rifle This would be my first Mosin. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Everyone should have an M44, if only to ruin your shoulder.

I went the cheaper way and got a T-53.

But yes, an M44 is a great addition to any beginners collection. I highly suggest a 91/30 first though...

It's a good rifle but it does kick.

T53's are a good option if you can find one that does not look like it got set on fire and put out with ice picks.

Otherwise M44's are great fun. Very loud, lots of recoil, and the ability to turn darkness into daylight. What's not to love?

I get way more use out of my M44 than the 91/30. I'm not really sure why but I just like the M44 better.

I like the carbines as well. M44 ... meh ... I don't really need two pounds of extra steel on the end of my barrel helping me aim. Now a nice M38 or 91/59-91/38 is a great carbine. Lots of kick, great fireballs and no bayo to weigh me down.

They are fun shooters. Remember I said fun. Accuracy is nothing to jump about. A nice vacation check with a bit more to spend, I would get a Schmidt-Ruben K31. Fun to shoot and very accurate.

i have 2 a romanian M-44 and a chinese T-53. both are tons of fun to shoot and are well made. i also prefer shooting a M-44 over a 91-30. i do not mind the bayonet out their on the end. very cool to me.

I have a nice 53. Honestly, I don't think they kick any harder. Everyone here is just a girly and forget to leave their purse at home

I bought a 91/30, and on a whim got an M44 with it as a package deal. I expected to like the former and probably meh with the latter, but shooting at the range was totally opposite.

Subjectively, I find the M44 to recoil less, but the punishment from the concussive force of that fireball is stout. And it is so, so fun to shoot.

I'm lead to believe that the M44 was the cheap Russian answer to CQB with bolt actions: shoot them; if you miss, light them on fire; if that fails, manually ventilate. What could go wrong?

I like to create my own thunder with my Russian M44 & Chinese T53.
At night you get both thunder and lightning (from the muzzle flash).
                        Good, cheap, fun!

I definitely enjoy shooting my m44 more than the 91/30, and actually shoot better with it too, go figure. yes, an m44 is definitely worth getting. if you're on a tight budget, get a type 53. same damn thing just not as pretty. I understand their triggers are better too and if you want to pretty it up, get a Russian stock. still cheaper than you can get an m44 these days.

I like my Type 53. Recoil with it actually seems less that it does with my 91/30. It is noticeably heavier than my 91/30, so that probably has something to do with it.
