    A bad tokarev...

my brother bought an M57 tokarev and it jammed everytime it was fired. The brass would not eject and it locked up to where it required a hammer to free the bind. I determined it was the slide causing the problem. It appears that the locking slots in the slide are rounded off instead of square. Here's a comparison with a normal m57 slide (top) and the malfunctioning one (lower)

one of the symptoms i noticed was the slide would rack back with the takedown pin removed. My normal functioning M57 does not rack back when the TD pin is removed. Is anyone elses M57 like this?

Thanks. He bought a new slide. I just thought this might help some people when they look at one before buying.

Dan, can you post a pic of the barrel lugs, and the link, that was in that slide? You might be adding an old problem, into a new slide.

I'm sure its the slide. All the parts are matching.

looks almost like the previous owner tried to polish the milling marks out with sand paper.

Could be. I was kind of wondering if the test I did with the TD pin was consistant with other M57s
