that is beat up enough to have been a movie prop
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Did you know that the occupying forces supplied the German and Austrian police with weapons after WWII and that the British were one of those occupying forces? I have a couple of US M1 carbines that were issued to German and Austrian police forces and are appropriately marked.

Yup. Look at Photo #16 in that auction. That says "Osterr Gendarmerie" AKA, Austrian Police. Not super common, but they are out there. Google Osterr Gendarmerie enfield and you will find quite a few.

There was another collector forum that posted GB and other auctions with bogus descriptions - they were mainly Mausers K98's and G43's that had been faked up to be sold as original, or matching -

It was scary how many there were on GB - with certain sellers being repeat offenders.

It is a tough hobby at that level, thousands of dollars at risk in some cases.

Is that what a Derp is - a bogus description?

I have been caught this way with daggers, caps and one sword, not with firearms yet, but I also tend to avoid spending too much on a rare variation of a common rifle - which seems to be where the pitfalls lie.

*I did get snagged on a parts kit for an MG42, which was actually a Yugo M53 with scrubbed markings and waffens added, it was a FTF and sort of discreet, I noticed in the car as I was looking closer - deal was done and my money gone.

Totally fake stamp - on the inside of the metal was the Yugo code number in digital font, - it is fine as a prop anyway, lol.

              I have a M1 Carbine

that was used by the Bavaria Forestry Police during the Occupation of Germany

and then later by the Austrian Gendarmerie

              More info http://www.bavarianm1carbines.com/austria.html
              Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.
