    renewing c&r license

is there any possible reason for renewing my c&r license since i won't be able do person to person exchange of c&r long guns next year? also, if i don't renew, do i have to fill out the form for non renewal and submit all records or can i just let it lapse without atf hassling me later - major bummer as most of my firearms are c&r that i acquired in ptp transfers or shipments direct to me from dealers.

just let it lapse. no need to turn in your bound book. if you get a COE you can still do F2F transfers, buyer will have to register and pay fee.

      You didn't need a C&R 03ffl to do ftf transfers anyway..Still don't until 1/1/14

I am letting mine lapse. Paying an FFL $100 to transfer a mail order rifle to me is just not worth it.

FFL03 and COE exempts you from 1-handgun-per-month limit http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/Cu...in_30_days_law and the 10 day waiting period when buying a C&R firearm http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/Cu...waiting_period

It also allows you to buy C&R firearms outside California. Handguns (and long guns after Jan. 1) will need to be registered after bringing them back to California.

Many vendors like Brownells and MidwayUSA give discounts to FFL 03 holders.
          Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

Am I mistaken but those of us with FFL03 + COE will still be able to buy F2F long guns in state from others of us who also have FFL03 + COE? We will just have to register them?

I'm probably going to let mine lapse next year. I just don't use it enough to justify buying a COE. Well, maybe renew so I COULD by something face to face outstate? (even though i don't travel much) Actually, I guess I'm up in the air about keeping mine. Probably regret it someday if i do.

My understanding is that if you have an 03FFL and COE it will be business as usual with the only difference being the self registration. Nothing changes in regards to who you are buying from, they do not need a 03 FFL or COE.
