    C&R Book Question

I always wondered what date do you put in the book:

The date you bought it or when the firearm arrives?

                      . The record shall show
the date of receipt; the name and address or the name and
license number of the person fr
                      om whom received; the name
of the manufacturer and importer (if any); the model, serial
number, type, and the caliber or gauge of the firearm curio
                      or relic.

So BATFE requires the "date of receipt" to be the date recorded as when it came into your collection, and gives you "until the close of the next business day", to make the entry into your book....

How are you supposed to record all the information if you don't have the firearm with you though? With the ones I bought I didn't have the importer or serial number until it arrived.

The "date of receipt" is when you RECEIVED the weapon.
