    1.TRZ cartouche M44

Anyone ever run across an M44 with a "1.TRZ" cartouche? It is supposed to be a Yugoslavian rebuild. 7.62net has it as a "5" on the 10 point rarity scale.

Anyone know if it is only the M44's that were rebuilt by the Yugoslavians?

Is that the one on Gunbroker?

Anyway, the Yugos probably refurbished the ones that they had from WW2.

The Yugoslavs used Mauser rifles, as we all know in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and the socialist Republic that replaced it, so they didn't need to order or produce their own Mosin Nagants.

Yep. I was wondering about whether the Yugoslavians also refurbed 91/30's and M38's.

Probably did. According to the website, the initials stand for a repair facility, so I am sure that is where all the Soviet lend-lease weapons ended up. All the captured German Mausers and Kingdom of Yugoslavia marked M24's were probably sent to Zastava for refurbishment in a similiar manner.

We might see them imported here in the future... hopefully after 2016.

        My $0.02.

Seeing that mark on the stock kind of reminds me of the same thing that I've seen on some Mosins. So here's the refurb mark I've seen

Basic Yugo rebuild. Very common mark on M24/47's and can be found on M48's and Mosins.
