Glad you made it to the match, 10X, and glad you had a good time.

The Swedish 6.5x55 Mauser is a good choice. As you probably noticed, many shooters use them at the match.

Another good choice is the 7.5x55 Swiss rifle. It is very accurate and slings a heavier bullet than the Swedish Mauser, which can be an advantage when it comes to knocking over the rams.

10xhobby I think you meant Swedish Mauser and not Swiss. As Mustang mentioned the Swedish 6.5x55 is a good choice and more specifically M96 which dominates this match. As proof, the match winner Vern used an M96 to get a 35 not to mention the previous 3-4 match winners (Vern & Paul) also shooting M96. Only downside is reliably knocking rams over and not ringing them as you will ring them every now and then.

However, if you really want dominate the match and win, get yourself a Mosin from Big-5 as they will surely knock down the rams.

Yes you are right, it is a Swedish Mauser M96 in 6.5x55. The other option is a K31, the Mosin however is not. Big 5 has some that I looked at but was not impressed with the overall condition. I was able to score a 31 with the m96 I used.
