    ftf hakim

i've got a hakim 8mm that won't fire = i thought it was gas tube adjustment problem - but after adjusting no luck - doesn't fire 50's yugo - makes a very light hit on each round and now trigger doesn't click at all - if nobody has ideas, anybody know gunsmith in sf bay area that can work on a hakim?

There's two kinds of hammer springs in a Hakim, ones that pop Yugo primers, and ones that don't.
All the action screws in a Hakim are staked, ...for a reason. If someone has taken it apart, and didn't re-staked the screws, it will disassemble itself with recoil. Then you have "now trigger doesn't click at all".
If you haven't had one apart before, and it has come apart inside, you'll have a bad day trying to separate the receiver from the stock. A worse day trying to figure out where everything goes!
I'm in Dixon and home all day today if you want help with it. PM me.

Has it been thoroughly cleaned of cosmoline. Stripped down and scrubbed. Trigger mechanism and bolt. Gas tube shouldn't affect the firing pin or hammer. JMHO

I recall yugo ammo has a very hard primer. Do you have any other ammo to try? Do not fire Turkish in this semi-auto as that tends to go boom.

It's no good and you don't like it or 8MM ammo anymore. I can take your grief away if you like. PAX

That's one clean Hakim, correct sling too. What do they want for it?
