    Looks pre-WWI to me.

Almost, that's what I first thought too, until I noticed the bolt handle and trigger guard.

is ammo actually available for those of us who havent mastered the Alchemist's dark craft of reloading?

Yes. I believe I made cases out of 50-70, and loaded it with regular .458" 350 grain bullets. Though it has been some time since I played with mine. In terms of power, it is about like a .45-70.

$78.00 for 20 rounds. That will either break the bank or turn one into a reloader real fast.

Any were from 100 to 300 all depends on contion what parts are there. I cant tell much on condition from the phtos. There is not a huge market for them and also if you dont rdload ammo is pricey kinda kills it for people.

definitely something you'd want to reload for but super-cool. if the price is decent, buy that sucker!
