    C&R How too FAQ/Checklist

I think it would be good to have a FAQ/Check list on getting a C&R license posted as a sticky.

    Thoughts?

How about keeping it as simple as possible...

1/ Call the ATF for the application form, not yet available online. You'll end up with 2 copies .

2/Fill in both copies. One is mailed with your application fee to the ATF Licensing Center, the second is mailed or delivered to the office of your local chief law enforcement officer ("CLEO"). Your CLEO copy is FYI only; CLEO's do not approve nor disapprove C&R licenses.

3/You wait for a bit. Most of the time the ATF sends the license. If you have questions, you can call the licensing division and ask them.

For the PRK, ATF offices are in Dublin (for norcal) and LA (I think) for socal.

ALL the information you need is on the BATFE website. Website requests for applications usually take a long time or do not happen; calling your closest ATF office typically gets you an app in a few days.

I'm not sure why a checklist is needed; again, all info required is on the batfe website. Did I miss anything that might hurt??

Your C&R is still (mostly) functional in the prk, at least so far.

Here is a link for the C&R application:

      You want the form,

F 7CR (5310.16) - Application for License (Collector of Curios and Relics) Under 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44, Firearms

Its on the right hand side in the blue column.

Also, here is a link to a bound book page for those of you who would rather not buy a bound book.
